From 20 – 23 Oct. 2009, a workshop on Creating Enabling Business Environment was organized by the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) in Windhoek, Namibia. Participating in the conference were 50 representatives from different organizations from 12 countries in Africa, Europe, America and Asia. The objectives of the work shop were to promote cross-regional exchange of information and experience in Africa on key business and investment climate issues.
It also aims at providing an access to tools, resources and good practice examples that can be used to improve the business and investment climate in Africa.
The conference discussed priorities in business environment reform in Africa, the impact of the financial and economic crisis on Africa and its implication for business environment reforms, experiences in business environment reforms, role of business associations in improving the business environment and improvement and public private dialogue.
Contributing to the event, Economica shared its experience and good practices from Asia and Vietnam on business environment reforms with two presentations including: “A Comparative Survey on Public Private Dialogue in Vietnam, Laos and the Philippines” and “Business Regulatory Reforms – Vietnam Experience”.
