"Corporate Governance Frameworks in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Viet Nam" is a new publication by OECD in cooperation with Economica Vietnam under the Southeast Asia Corporate Governance Initiative. The publication is launched in 2019.
Started in 2014, the OECD-Southeast Asia Corporate Governance Initiative supports the regional development of vibrant and healthy capital markets through the advancement of corporate governance standards and practices. Recognizing the specific reform needs of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Viet Nam arising from their stage in economic development, the initiative focuses on these countries to compile information on corporate governance frameworks, identify common challenges and propose areas for reform.
An important output of the 5 years of the initiative, which also testifies to the CLMV countries’ commitment and the support from the region and to the cooperation between OECD and Economica Vietnam, is the report "Corporate Governance Frameworks in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Viet Nam". The publication is now available here.
This report takes stock of corporate governance frameworks in four countries: Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Viet Nam. In the report, Economica Vietnam contributed to the overview section and to the chapters on Cambodia, Lao PDR and Viet Nam. Economica Vietnam also contributed to meetings and roundtables which were organized under the framework of the Initiative in Hanoi, Phnom Penh, Vientiane, Yangon, Kuala Lumpur and other cities in the last five years. The meetings and roundtables have an intra-regional shape and are organized with the participation of stakeholders from Southeast Asia and international experts, who offer insights based on their experiences.
Other contributions, presentations by Economica Vietnam to the initiative are available at the Resource Centre of this website.
